By accessing and using GlutenScanning ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

2. Description of Service

GlutenScanning is a food product scanning application that provides:

Barcode scanning for packaged foods
Gluten status detection (Safe, Caution, Contains, Unknown)
Allergen information and detection
Comprehensive allergen catalog with scientific information
Scan history tracking
Offline support with cached products
Access to scientific research articles

3. Fair Use & Daily Limits

To keep GlutenScanning fast and affordable for everyone, certain features have daily usage limits per account:

Barcode Scanning: 100 scans per day
Product Lookup: 100 lookups per day
Allergen Information Access: Unlimited

These limits may be adjusted to prevent abuse or maintain service quality. If you need higher limits, please contact support.

4. Subscriptions

GlutenScanning offers the following subscription options:

Weekly: $0.99/week (3-day free trial)
Monthly: $2.99/month
Yearly: $23.99/year

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions in your device settings.

4.1 Service Features and Usage Limits

Certain features of GlutenScanning are subject to daily usage limits:

Barcode Scanning: Limited to 100 scans per day
Product Lookup: Limited to 100 lookups per day
Allergen Information Access: Unlimited

These limits are applied on a per-user, per-day basis and reset at midnight in your local time zone. We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time, with reasonable notice provided through the Service or these Terms.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes
Not misuse or abuse the daily limit system
Not attempt to circumvent security measures
Verify product information independently when making health decisions

6. Health Disclaimer

GlutenScanning provides estimates and information for informational purposes only. All gluten and allergen detection results are estimates based on available product data and do not replace professional medical advice. Always verify product labels and consult your healthcare provider before making dietary decisions, especially if you have celiac disease or severe food allergies.

7. Data Privacy

Your data is private and secure:

Scan history stored locally on your device
No personal health data shared with third parties

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality are owned by GlutenScanning and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

GlutenScanning is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. The app does not guarantee the accuracy of product information or allergen detection results.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms.
